Hi I'm Ruby. As a child I had a gift in canoeing. I was forced to drop it because there was no future in it so came to the UK and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company followed by 25 years on BBC and Channel Four writing and performing my own shows. I did many one-woman shows, many directed by Alan Rickman, edited "Absolutely Fabulous" and have given birth to two bestselling books about mindfulness - Sane New World and A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled. My latest book came out in January 2018 - How to Be Human: The Manual, and I am taking a show based on the book on the road this Autumn. I still pine for canoeing and hope to return to it soon. Thanks for visiting my site.
Want to be the first to know about my new book and other exciting things?
How To Be Human is the show you need to help you upgrade your mind as much as you’ve upgraded your iPhone.

We can’t stop the future from arriving, no matter what drugs we’re on. But even if nearly every part of us becomes robotic, we’ll still, fingers crossed, have our minds, which hopefully, we’ll be able to use for things like compassion, rather than chasing what’s ‘better’ and if we can do that we’re on the yellow brick road to happiness.
This show will be the follow up to my sell out shows ‘Sane New World’ and ‘Frazzled’ - this time I will also have a little help from the neuroscientist and the monk throughout the tour.
